No. Everything you need happens in Discord — linking a character, queueing, requesting a run, accepting a match, and rating afterwards. The website is optional: it's where you can look back at your run history, gold earned, and Priority status. An account is created for you automatically the first time you use the bot.
How do I get a boost?
Join the Discord and run /mplus request. Pick your key level, dungeon, and any preferences. Keys 2-16 are matched automatically. Keys 17 and above go to our approved high-key teams to claim, and you'll be pulled into a private thread with the team that takes it.
How do I start boosting?
Join the Discord and run /mplus character link with your Raider.IO profile URL. Your class, roles, and score are read automatically and you'll be given the matching role. Then run /mplus queue join — or hit Quick Join — and you're eligible for matches. No subscription needed.
When do I pay, and how much?
Gold is traded upfront, before the run starts. The buyer pays each booster their split directly, in game, then invites them. The price is shown when you make the request and is split evenly between the four boosters — no role gets a bigger cut. Only ever invite the exact character name listed on your match.
How does matching work?
Buyers are matched strictly first-in, first-out. There is no way to pay to skip the queue, and no way to request a specific booster. Boosters are chosen by a weighted random draw — Priority subscribers carry double weight, and waiting longer raises your odds too, capped at 2x after an hour. Free boosters stay eligible for every match.
What is Priority, and does it change my gold?
Priority is an optional $5/month Patreon subscription for boosters. It doubles your selection weight, gives priority queue placement, raises your active high-key claims from 1 to 3, and unlocks the booster leaderboard. It does not change your gold split, and it has no effect on buyers — they're always matched FIFO regardless of what anyone pays.
Can I negotiate price or pick my booster?
No. Pricing and matching are automated through published rules and the bot — never through DMs, negotiation, or choosing a specific booster. That's the point: nobody, including us, can cut the line or play favourites.
What if something goes wrong?
After every completed run the buyer gets a Discord message with two buttons. "Went well" rates the whole group. "Report an issue" lets you say which specific party member the problem was with, so one person's behaviour doesn't affect everyone else's rating. Reports go straight to our team. Disputes over in-game gold are ultimately between the players involved — Slash2 doesn't hold gold and can't reverse a trade.
Can I cancel a request?
Yes — run /mplus cancel any time before you've been matched. Once a group has been assembled, message the group in your coordination thread rather than disappearing. If you're a booster who can't finish, use Leave (or /mplus leave) and you'll be backfilled automatically.
Does it cost anything to use?
No. Buyers pay nothing to the platform — only gold to their boosters, in game. Boosters keep 100% of that gold. Slash2 takes no cut of any run. The optional Patreon subscriptions fund the platform's hosting and development; they're never required.
Safety and the rules
Is Slash2 allowed under Blizzard's rules?
Slash2 is an external platform — a website and a Discord bot. We operate entirely outside the World of Warcraft client. We don't run inside WoW, we don't advertise in game, and we don't hold gold or provide escrow. Coordination happens on our platform; gold trades happen manually between players, as allowed by Blizzard. You are responsible for following Blizzard's Terms of Service, and we encourage you to read their policies and use Slash2 in a way that complies with them.
Is this real-money trading?
No. Boosting payments are in-game gold only, traded directly between players. There are no real-money trades inside WoW. The optional Patreon subscriptions are a real-money payment to us for platform features — they never buy gold, and they never change how boosting is paid.
Does Slash2 hold gold or act as escrow?
No. Slash2 never holds gold and provides no escrow. The buyer trades each booster directly, in game, before the run. Because there's no middleman holding funds, boosters keep 100% and there's nothing for us to take a cut from — but it also means we can't reverse a trade if someone acts in bad faith.
What stops someone taking the gold and leaving?
Nothing on our side can force a trade — that's true of any gold marketplace. What we do have: every booster is a known, role-verified member rather than an anonymous advertiser; the post-run report names the specific person; and ratings follow people across runs. A booster who takes gold and drops is also breaking Blizzard's rules, so report them in game as well as to us.
Do I need to advertise in game?
No — and you shouldn't. Don't advertise, solicit, or run boosting services in in-game chat or UI. All coordination happens in Discord. That's the whole point of the queue: you don't need to spam trade chat to find work or find a group.
Can I get banned for using Slash2?
Slash2 is built to sit outside the game client, with gold-only payments and no in-game advertising or escrow. We can't speak for Blizzard's enforcement decisions. You are responsible for following Blizzard's Terms of Service.
